Old Testament / Hebrew Bible Labels

Here is an alphabetical list of all the labels for films based on the Hebrew Bible (Old Testament) used on this site so far. In order to prevent the list getting too ungainly, I've grouped some films together by the lead character.

You can also view all labels, labels by character name, Jesus Films labels, and New Testament film labels.

    1 and 2 Kings Noah (2014)
Bible (The - Huston) One Night With the King
Bible Miniseries (History Channel) Paradise Lost

Thanks for your comment and your kind words.

Yes, I'm afraid I'm yet to write much about The Prince of Egypt hence why there's no label for it (likewise with Barabbas). I am familiar with it, however. It's one of the few Bible films I've had the chance to see on the big screen. I'm also a fan of Barabbas which I thought of during the recent eclipse (whilst my wife was in labour). As for Jesus for children, I've never seen this cut of the Jesus film although I'm very familiar with the original and some of the other cuts. Having just done a podcast on Jesus I'm partway through writing another post on it.

Please do keep me informed of any other Bible films you know of. Are there any in Coptic that you know of? I'm aware that there was talk of one a while back, but I've not heard anything on it for a long time.

      Kind regards

      Matt

thank you mate for your reply, actually i heard from my father about a couples of classical bible films he told me about, but i didn't have the chance to see any on of them, like (Quo Vadis) [ http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0043949/plotsummary ]
      and (the Robe) [ http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0046247/plotsummary ]
and (ben hur)released in many version from silent films to 2003.
but as my father told me it was a great film in that times.
hope to see articles about it in your blog too.
about the Jesus coptic film, as you know we live in an Islamic country that didn't support freedom of expression and have a very rigid censorship over films that may effect the final product of that film, because Islam didnt belive in incarnation of Jesus Christ as God, and didnt belive in crucifixion too, even they dislike the appearance of prophets on the screen !!!!. beside that, some of the film makers in egypt will compliment the Muslims over their faith... to prevent their angry and to avoid clashes between Copts and Muslims sorry to say that.
so i don't think it will be a disfigured film. and we didn't depend on it to present Jesus from the orthodox Coptic vision. and telling you the truth, it will not see the light in our country.

Thank you again for your great blog, hope to see a section in your blog on Documentary biblical movie and TV series too. i know it will a great job and effort but i think it worth.

      blessing and regards

      Hi there
I'm trying to find some high-quality (e.g. 35mm film) Old Testament films/clips, ideally ones that are inexpensive or out-of-copyright. Does anyone know a distribution company or similar where I can get this kind of thing?
      Cheers.
