    Nativity name change

Jeffrey Overstreet and Peter Chattaway are both reporting that Catherine Hardwicke's nativity film is now going to be called The Nativity Story. I'm not sure I like the change. It just makes it sound a little bit more twee than plain old Nativity. Perhaps I'll get used to it by the time the film comes out.

There was a film in 1978 called The Nativity, but previously Hardwicke's title didn't even have the definite article. There was also a 5 minute film made a few years back by the Church of the Latter Day Saints called The Nativity, and there may have been a few others. But unlike Gibson The Passion of the Christ which changed its title becuase there was another film being released with the title The Passion the same year, I supect that this isn't what has gone on here - it's probably a marketing thing.

I should add that this piece of news has yet to be officially confirmed as far as I am aware.
