Looking at film interpretations of the stories in the Bible - past, present and future, as well as preparation for a future work on Straub/Huillet's Moses und Aron and a few bits and pieces on biblical studies.
Why hasnt there ever been a movie made on the book of Job. I think the events in heaven and events on earth would be a great contrast in how God thinks and how man thinks it would be very inspirational.
ReplyDeleteHi, thank you for all these information. I couldn’t find your review of the following one. It is not a movie. But… Have you ever reviewed here Cotton Patch Gospel (2006) DVD?
ReplyDeleteI have watched many times. It is based on the gospel of Matthew. It is really funny, too.
There are a few films which could be described as being "about Job" and so a while back a started a label on them - http://biblefilms.blogspot.com/search/label/Job. The all labels age has been updated recently, but I've not had a chance to update this page for a while (but then it wouldn't be here anyway!).
ReplyDeleteI've never actually seen "The Cotton Patch gospels". It is one of those films that I really ought to have seen by now, but it's not been available over here, and I've just never made it a high enough priority. I'll get around to it one day I guess.
Matt
In the mean time, then, have you visit here to read the original version of Cotton Patch Gospel (before it became a musical)? There you can read other Cotton Patch versions of the New Testament, too. Hope you enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteI have another name. It is called, "Joshua." I am not sure whether it can be included under the name of “Jesus Film Labels.” But I think it is so close. It is an imaginative film about what would happen if Jesus, (Joshua in the film) comes to an American town. Thanks for you blog. I seem to come often in these days.
ReplyDeleteHi, Matt
ReplyDeleteI am really enjoying watching the Miracle Maker. Bravo.
By the way, have you seen this film: Die Bibel: Jesus? Which one of above link is related to this? I wonder whether you have reviewed it here. I see this ads often but I haven't seen it. So, I want to learn what kind of film this is. I don’t seem to find it in America.
Thank you for your help in advance.

Sorry for the slow reply H. The link is "Jesus (1999)".
ReplyDeleteHope that helps
Matt

ReplyDeleteHey Matt
ReplyDeleteI was wondering about your opinion on the French ? To my opinion is really poor, especially with Pilate in front of Golgotha scenery.
It's great collection here. I had watched all movies. I thought to get new series but hope other posts of will help me to get new movies.
